We are donating (brewed) coffee for the Saturday portion of the Grand Opening of the Cordukes/Weber 12-sided Barn, located at 1410 Basswood Lake Road, Sowerby. Friday, August 10th there will be an Auction Sale and Saturday evening (August 11) there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by entertainment featuring Sheesham and Lotus starting at 7 pm. Sheesham and Lotus played a sold-out show in Richards Landing this past spring, and are in the area again as instructors at AlgomaTrad.
Eli Stutzman has been selling our coffee by the bag all summer at the 12-sided barn Farmers’ Market, Saturdays, 9 am – 2pm. A barbecue will be held at 11 am this Saturday during the Farmers’ Market as part of the Grand Opening celebration.
The 12-sided barn was erected next to the “Sowerby Hall” (now called the Day and Bright Community Centre). Growing up in nearby Dayton, Heather attended the Sowerby Hall for numerous events and celebrations. It`s great to see a piece of history marking a location already filled with many memories.
